| My HP laptop always remains at 6% battery even with charger plugged in?? | | I've had my hp laptop for about 2 years or so. Over the past few months (I think its been that long), the laptop seems to always remain at 6% battery even though the charger is plugged in. Mind you we always have the laptop charger plugged in. So I'm thinking maybe since the charger is always plugged in, maybe the laptop battery is now drained of power and can't recharge? If its my battery, how much is a new one? | |

| | HP Laptop with NVidia Graphics Card Crash and Burn | | I did some research and found that this is a common problem, but not sure if anyone had any luck with getting HP to warranty the issue.I had a HP Laptop dv2000 series with a NVidia graphics card. One day I went to turn the laptop on only to have it beep three beeps at me and never start up. Having my second computer, I did what any other geek would do and Google "HP 3 beeps on start up". Got tons of information...Problem: NVidia was using inadequate materials for the graphics card integration with the motherboard. With time, the heat buildup from the computer would actually melt the connection on the board. For most people this occurred after the warranty expired; however, one person said that they complained enough that HP supposedly created an addendum to the warranty to cover this issue for those outside of the warranty.I have yet to try to get my system repaired because I want to get my information off the hard drive before I send it in because I sensitive information on it. (Yes, I know how to retrieve my info, just lazy in moving it all over at once.)I am just curious if this happened to anyone else. Was it an HP or did it crossover into other manufacturers?... | |

| | HP Laptop: How to reduce physical memory | | I bought the HP Laptop (entertainmnt series) in Feburary 2008. It has Windows Vista.Since then a lot of activity has happened on this poor thing. Loading and unloading various programmes and features, games and visiting arbit sites in the hope of getting online work and freebies. I know, sounds like how can someone be such a dud. But when you have a lot of time at your disposal then you tend to do such things. I don't know about others but I did. And now my poor friend, the laptop, is facing serious issues with its physical memory. No marks for guessing that it was done through all the overload of installing and un-installing. I guess? I am not very technically sound but have an idea that if I reformat my dear laptop then it will get a new lease of life. But if I do so then all the important documents might be lost. I know, you guys will suggest to move the information to some other source, either online or physically. But, lazy me, cannot handle so much of extra work. Many will say, Vista is sad. It is any day slower than XP. But that doesn't solve my problem. So how can I reduce the physical memory of my laptop? Any good souls who are willing to help with a genuine solution... | |
