| | My biggest gripe with second hand computers... | | For the past five years, all my computers have been ancient. Literally! For some reason, we bought all the computers second hand at the pawn shop. The last used computer that I bought cost $150 and the one before that cost $495. It wasn't a real deal, though. It lasted for less than a year.So, when Walmart put a computer on sale for less than $500, I snapped it up. It's not the fastest computer in the world, but ten times faster than a second hand computer (circa 2000). And, it has a huge flat screen computer that's great for watching movies and free online tv shows. My biggest gripe with second hand computers is that you end up with other people's stuff to deal with. For instance, my last computer was named, Karen! That's not my name. So, everytime I logged in, it would say, "Hi Karen". Guess I should have changed that. And, there were tons of old files, spyware junk and family photos that had not been deleted before we bought it at the pawn shop.Anyway, guess my question is this: How do you deal with all the junk you find on a used computer? Do you simply erase it? Or, leave it there? | |

| Flat screen LCD or the usual/traditional type of TV? | | What type of TV do you prefer to have: the flat screen LCD or the traditional one? I go for the traditional one and the type that's not too big and wide. My mom and I have been making a canvass on TVs because we're planning to buy one. Most of the displays in stores are flat screen LCD TVs and we were dismayed because they were rectangular in shape. Seems like TV characters are stretched in that type of screen. So we opt for the traditional one because we think our viewing is normal and it doesn't make any difference, does it? | |

| Is flat screen TV an electric saver? | | We have a flat screen TV in our house. It is so huge and sometimes i don't want to watch tv there because i felt dizzy when i watch their specially when i am watching action movies. Last week our electric bill had came up with a shocking payment of almost 3,000 pesos. My mother scolded me for that, I justify myself because i am just using laptop. I usually charge it 2 times a day because of its long-life battery and i am sure that laptop is really an electric saver. Based on my observations on why is it our electric bill was so high i've noticed our TV. My mother is always watching for almost 12 hours a day.
