| Used computers | | I guess that I have been lucky, I bought a computer in 2004 new and I still have it and just 2 weeks ago I bought a computer at a yard sale for 40.00 and it is working great!! I did have to buy a ethernet thing for it, but other than that I am on it now. My son has my other computer becuase he had some games on it already./ | |

| desktop computer or laptop? | | hi there mylotters. i just want to ask what kind of computer do you have. is it brand new or old model? w/c one do you prefer a desktop computer or a laptop? mine is old model already. its a pentium 4 windows xp and sometimes it think my computer is sick. for me i much more prefer the desktop than to a laptop well maybe i dont have a laptop hehehehehe.. how but you? happy mylotting. | |

| Do Yu Buy Used Products? | | As everyone knws I bought my computer used...I dont recommend buying a used computer,because it has casued me so many problems.Last night it kept telling me it could not detect an internet connection, and after about 45 minutes I just went to bed and turned it off!!I bought my little boy a used PS2 at a pawn shop yesterday.He'd been wanting one,and I fugured it would doubleass a DVD player.Wel, surprise surprise,it wont play DVDs!!Ive always loved a good bargain, thrift stores have gtreat stuff!!Ive never bought used electronics beofre now, and I think I am going to stick with new from here on out.What about you? Do you buy items like this used? Have you had good experiences? Or do you always buy new stuff? | |
| | I Finally Got A Computer! | | i am soooo happy! I finally own my very own computer! I bought a used;aptop a few days ago./ I wish I had went and spent another $100 on a new one, but so far, so good. I had to take the first one I bought back...got it home and didnt work! Then I have had trouble trying to get internet.

| Off Lease Computers | | I am planning on buying a new computer in the next year and I've noticed "off lease" computers. These are computers that were leased and then sold as used. They look pretty good and the company I saw selling them say that they clean them and check them out much in the way a car dealership checks out new cars as being "certified". The only thing I don't like is that most of these computers have limited storage, about 40GB. But, the processing speeds are very high.So, has anyone bought an off lease computer? If so, was it a good thing?I've only owned used computers, so I'm used to older technology. | |

Yup... free. | | I have found that the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation has a program where they take in used computers, install current software then give them away to those unable to afford their own computers. We have a local agency that oversees the distribution locally... have you heard of the foundation and this part of it specifically? Any questions I can help with? | |
