myLot Discussions| laptop vs desktops | | here, i would like to tell you all of them, that we are using laptops preferably, inspite of desktops because in recent era, laptops are comes in forefront because of its mobility, low space, 3hrs of power backup and lots of inbuilt features, that we could not expect from any desktops from any perspectives, although i don't have any objection to say about that laptops, notebooks are quite better than desktops, but in last few time some desktops manufacturing companies introducing some additional and innovative features same like any good laptops like high resolution camera,
internal optical drive, internal cpu like lappy, inside monitor except keyboards and mouse, these type of desktops are presented by apple, dell and hp etc | |

I've personally always had pictures.. like photography-pictures or family pictures (including other people of course) as the backgrounds of my computer & phone. I mean c'mon you can be so lazy and watch tv while surfing the web, or you can get some work done while cooking, or watch tv while working, or whatever it is that you need your computer for.With me, I have to take care of my dad during the day, and my mom was given a laptop, so I take advantage, and use the web while tending to him. I'm out there in the room with him, while doing mylot, or just surfing the web for him, whatever needs to be done. I very seldom, and don't think I'll ever cook and play with the laptop at the same time, that could be VERY dangerous and knowing me.... would end in disaster! I find pros and cons of both, but the final answer really depends on what type of person you are.
Desktops offer better power, speed and performance. You're able to run more tasks and do more things at once, since of the better power and speed. However, you cannot transport a desktop around (well you could, but that would be a big pain.)
Laptops are less powerful and fast but I believe that most people buy it for convenience. It's so easy and portable: move it anywhere around the house, bring it on a roadtrip, a trip overseas or in the country: it's ultimate portability.In conclusion, I would pick desktops but that's because I don't 'move' around a lot. I prefer to stay in one place. However, it could be different for everyone of us.Share your opinion, and happy myLotting!

| | Laptops can never beat Desktops in terms of Gaming and other heavy tasks | | Today, I have read an article in newspaper that Laptops at last overtaken PC's in terms of selling units. Even though I expected this to happen considering the people's mobility between the workplaces, but some of the Laptop owners started claiming PC has become a redundant junk piece and should be scraped completely. I was amused by those comments and I challenged them firmly that let them show me play a high end game on their laptops and I will agree. None of them raised their voice again.In my honest opinion, laptop is just a comfortability factor over PC and cannot relate in terms of performance or scalability. Whenever my brother plays those hardcore games, I even shuddered to think whether these monster games can ever be played on laptops which look very feeble and weak for me. Also while playing strategy or FPS games, laptops are a strictly no-no. For high end tasks like heavy computing, laptop will not feature at all. I like trendy desktops like HP, Dell ones where the new ones emerge. I might buy a laptop if I ever moving to a new place to showcase something.. | |
