| What's your opinion on DELL computers? | | It's been nearly 6-7 years since I have been using my Dell Optiplex Gx260, I think it is a great computer for home use.Within these years I have had only 1 problem which was the power supply unit. So I had to change it. But otherwise there wasn't any much of a problem.I think dell computers are great for business and home use.My home computer when purchased had only 256MB of ram and still have 64MB on-board graphics.So I changed the RAM to 1.25GB and it functions very fast now.Anyhow, this is my story.
I'd like to know the opinion of mylotters on Dell or any other good computer brand, because maybe I might be buying a new computer pretty soon.And what do you think might be the best pc for gaming, an affordable one that is too? | |

| do not buy dell computers!!! | | I have had to call the Dell Technical Support people almost eight times now because of blackouts and freezing on my new computer and I was told by my Mac User friends that I would never had had to do this if I had a Mac. Also, my McAfee Virus Protection does not work, my old Dell printer does not work with my new Dell system, I cannot use systems that I once loved to use, and my time has been wasted from having to get on the phone so much just to have my computer fixed. This is insane. It is a new computer, why do I have so many problems with it? | |
| | Why is it some people simply hate Dell computers? | | I personally hate them from an upgrade stand point. The bottom of the line ones don't offer very much as far as extra slots for add on cards.Also they don't use the universal atx power supply so if you need to replace it you have to order a special one.They also seem to be slow compared to the custom built gaming machines I'm use to.But they are fine if you want to check e-mail. | |
